CURRENT SEMESTER HAPPENINGS

WEEKLY EVENTS:
Each week, the students will be given a small assignment of something to bring in to the co-op or to wear. Some are silly, some are serious. This is not required, but it sure is a lot of fun!! *These weekly events and their descriptions were created by two of our trusty teenagers, so if they seem unusual, that's why. - Lol. Hope you like them!!

  • January 15 - Hug Day - Welcome back! Give all your ol' buddies a great big hug!!
  • January 22 -
    • Snow Day - Now is your chance to wear your scarves, mittens, hats, boots, and all that other stuff you don't get to wear because you live in Florida. Bring some hot chocolate - we're pretending it's cold outside.
  • January 29 - Team T-Shirt Day - Come dressed in your best T-shirt representing your favorite team.
  • February 5 - Sock Day - Back by popular demand! OH YEAH! How could you not know what to do on sock day? Does this really need a description?? Huh???
  • February 12 - Valentine's Day - Red versus pink!! Whaduya think?? (Boys wear red and girls wear pink!) (This could turn into an EPIC contest!)
  • February 19 - Dress Like a Normal Person... or... Someone Totally Wacky Day - Your choice! Haha.
  • February 26 - International Day - Dress like someone from another country... Bahamas, China, South Africa, Australia, Mexico, etc.
  • March 5 - Stuffed Animal Day - Bring in your most special, most favorite stuffed animal to hang out with you all day.
  • March 12 - Old-Fashioned Day - Come dressed as something or someone out of a history book. It could be Medieval, Colonial, Prairie, Victorian, WWII, etc.

    • St. Paddy's Day - Green, green and more green. Wear something green and bring in a yummy green snack to share, or else! Good luck!
  • March 26 -
    • Ice Cream Party - Our end of the semester ice cream party...a must have!!

LUNCH MENU:

This semester we will be offering Pizza Hut cheese pizza. The cost is $1.00 per slice, or $6 for a whole pizza (8 slices). Please order your lunch upon arrival in the morning. We will continue to offer additional snacks and drinks for 50 cents. And of course anyone is welcome to bring their own lunch from home.

NEW for 2010! In an effort to simplify the lunch ordering process, we are pleased to offer you the option of prepaying for your child's pizza, drink and snacks. This pre-paid option would save you the time of standing in line to place your order each week, and can be elected at any time throughout the semester. Once elected, payment in full for the remaining Fridays is due, with NO REFUNDS, NO SKIPPED DAYS, and NO CHANGES to the standing order. If you have an order for snacks, all your child will need to do is pick up his snack each Friday after signing-in before his first class. If you only have a pizza and/or drink order, there's no stopping at all!

FALL SEMESTER PROJECT
CHoSEN Co-op hosts an annual CHoSEN History Fair every fall semester. On the 10th week, the hallways will be filled with projects and displays, music and costumes, to represent the many historic time periods of our world...from Indian villages to prairie days, and from medieval castles to outerspace. More details will be provided in the fall.
